Job Seeker Success Story
Abraham Menjivar, Network Operation Project Engineer, ITT Systems
US Navy
"The process I encountered at the MilitaryStars Career Expo was one of professionalism, enthusiasm, proficiency, and attentiveness. With the guidance and preparation that the folks from MilitaryStars gave me, I was able to get a desirable position as an Assistant Network Operation Project Engineer with ITT Systems!
I held the title of AD2 (AW) in the U.S. Navy. My rank was an E-5. I left the U.S. Navy in July of 1999 and started searching for jobs right away.
The staff at MilitaryStars was very helpful. They gave me several reminders to sign up and attend the expo. Once I arrived at the facility where the expo was held, the staff was very informative on the process of approaching employers. The best advice I got from them was to be positive and target the companies that I was highly interested in.
I spoke with eight employers but targeted only four. The follow-up was informative and positive. I received a call from HR to interview for the Network Operations Project Engineer position three weeks after the expo. It took three business days after the interview to receive an offer for the position.
The staff of MilitaryStars provided guidance, tools, and encouragement to help me find the best job. Other search services I've experienced are not so enthusiastic in helping people find jobs. Once the doors opened, I was able to roam and approach different companies that I was interested in. Other career search services make people take assessment tests so they can determine what best suits the candidate, which I feel limits the person's abilities. Overall MilitaryStars is a top rated career search service and I would recommend it to any veteran I encounter!"
Hello MilitaryStars,
Thank you for the update. You will be pleased to know that I have found
employment with Boeing Services International, a subsidiary of
Boeing Aircraft Company, in their Chantilly, VA office. MilitaryStars
has been an extremely valuable resource in helping navigate the
waters of finding a job. Your helpful tips and easy-to-read website
gave me that something extra I needed to add punch to my resume
and get me in the door.
So, on a good note, I will temporarily end our association but
will visit your website from time to time.
Success!!

MilitaryStars,
Thank you so much for all of the information that you provided to me in just this one e-mail.
Once again it is the military taking care of the military! I have written so many others about all of the questions that
I have come up with since beginning my job quest and no one has come back with such a complete answer to any of the questions that I have asked.
As suggested, I will show at the Denver EXPO to meet and greet all of the employers.
Also, I will further explore the Militarystars web site for
information and hopefully my future job. Once again, Thank You for your assistance.
Very Respectfully,
T. Flatau, US Army
To my friends at MilitaryStars:
Thanks for keeping me posted on job fairs and job opportunities. I found a
new job (offer to follow next week) with a local company. The networking with this company started at a recent MS job fair at a hotel near BWI
airport. Many thanks for your support.
Thanks again,
