Todd Hecht
Todd Hecht, President, is a veteran candidate recruiter from MilitaryStars' sister company, Orion International. A US Navy veteran who specialized in surface warfare, Todd then went on to hone his recruiting expertise as a the Recruiter in Charge of Navy Recruiting Stations FT Myers, Naples and Cape Coral out of NRD Miami.
Utilizing his 10 years of Navy recruiting experience, upon transitioning,Todd began his civilian career at Orion International as a candidate recruiter and quickly
amassed a track record of success, rising to partner status at Orion prior to taking on the role of President at MilitaryStars.
Originally from New Port Richey, FL, Hecht resided in Jacksonville and then Tampa prior to his role at MilitaryStars. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Tracy, and the couple's two baby daughters, Keirstin and Kendall. An avid boater and fisherman, Todd loves spending time on his flats and bay boat. He adamantly opposes lettuce, tomato and onions on all sandwiches.


Benjamin Vanderneck
Benjamin Vanderneck, Operations Manager / Candidate Services Head, is the true push behind MilitaryStars candidate numbers. Vanderneck has worked everyday since being hired by MilitaryStars in October 2004 to make certain that the thousands of military job seekers receive invitations to MilitaryStars Career Expos. In his almost two years with MilitaryStars, Ben has been involved with all aspects of the company, working in the Client Services, Marketing, Candidate
Marketing Departments and now Operations. As Candidate Marketing Specialist, he answers phone calls and emails from job seekers every day to assist them in their career search.
The son of an Army veteran and born in Germany due to his father’s deployment, Vanderneck stems from a long history of military service, with both grandfathers and several uncles also serving. Originally from the Pittsburgh area, Ben graduated from the University of North Carolina in 2001 with a dual-major degree in English and Communications Studies.
MilitaryStars corporately relocated Vanderneck in August 2005 to become one of the original occupants of the first ever MilitaryStars Headquarters. Pittsburgh born and bread, he adamantly displays his roots through his love of the Steelers.


Chris Nothdurft
Christopher Nothdurft, Sales Manager, is a 10-year US Army veteran who specialized in communications and networking prior to becoming a Regional Recruiting Commander for Boca Raton, Delray Beach, and Boynton Beach, Florida. Christopher's accomplishments in the Army's Recruiting Command earned him the "Recruiting Excellence Award" which distinguishes him as amongst the Army's top
ten percent of Recruiters in the United States.
Christopher has just recently made his transition into his civilian career as an account executive at MilitaryStars, where he continues to assist transitioning military personnel in achieving their career goals.
A native Floridian, Christopher is originally from Miami, FL and has always considered the "sunshine state" to be his home. When not at the office or on campus, you will probably find Christopher spending time with his two children; Andrea and Michael, or playing his guitar in front of a small crowd.

Ethan Grefe
Ethan Grefe, Corporate Communications, strives to highlight the inherent value that veterans bring to an organization's culture by working daily to promote the MilitaryStars brand. Through his public relations experience, Grefe has developed and implemented a communications program that now yields dramatic results, constantly reinforcing the goals of MilitaryStars and concurrently the hiring of military job seekers.
Having worked for Porter Novelli International, a Top Ten Public Relations firm, at its Washington, DC Public Affairs Headquarters, and having served in myriad journalistic positions including Editor-in-Chief at various publications, Ethan now utilizes his skills and experiences to further the mission of MilitaryStars: Deploying Military Talent to Corporate America.
Grefe graduated in 2001 from Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH with a degree in English-writing and a minor in Political Science. He currently resides in Sarasota, FL, as MilitaryStars corporately relocated him in August 2005 to become one of the original occupants of the first ever MilitaryStars Headquarters. He is entertaining the notion of continued education, but worries that his beach time will get in the way. A one-time boat owner and always fond of the water, he regularly states that he will not find a reason to leave Paradise, a.k.a. Sarasota, FL.


Jessica Fields, Finance, brings considerable events management and finance experience to the Stars. Her work ethic and get-the-job-done mentality assist the nation's largest military career expo company in conducting its business and maintaining the high level of events quality that attending employers have come to expect from us.
A Bradenton native, Jessica's keen knowledge of the area further allows her to
facilitate MilitaryStars' projects and local business needs.
In her free time, Jessica enjoys taking in all of what sunny Southwest Florida has to offer: world-class beaches, good people, and always a great time to be had.

Victor Garlington
Victor Garlington, Strategic Account Executive, is a 10-year US Air Force veteran and former accomplished USAF aero medical evacuation medic stationed in Asia. Victor returned from the service to pursue a business management degree at Troy State University before beginning a career in executive recruitment.
Having extensively recruited for engineering, health care, and myriad manufacturing industries, he also gained extensive knowledge of opportunities within corporate
America available to transitioning military personnel and veterans.
Victor cultivated a sales and Client Services Department at MilitaryStars, and has since propelled that MilitaryStars unit to attract top quality civilian employers to attend regional hiring events throughout the country, resulting in a progressive environment of opportunities for veterans.
Vic now lives in Sarasota, FL. He enjoys tennis and spending time with his two children
Adam and Alena.


Brenda Nagel
Brenda Nagel, Account Executive, works tirelessly at MilitaryStars to assist transitioning personnel in finding civilian employment by recruiting client companies to attend MilitaryStars Career Expos. A part of the first MilitaryStars team, Brenda utilizes her degree in business from the University of Pittsburgh and her nearly two years of client service experience with MilitaryStars to give employment opportunities to those who risk their lives for the United States.
Having worked in myriad segments of the service industry from retail, advertising and commercial sales to service industry management, event planning and her current job at MilitaryStars, she says that she has never worked in a position as rewarding as she does now. Indeed, she loves working with people and gets a thrill from clients’ satisfaction at MilitaryStars events.
Having lived in cities throughout the US and Europe, she currently resides in Pittsburgh and has called the Steel City home since 1993. (Go Steelers!)


Curtis Hagens
Curtis M. Hagens, Account Executive, works tirelessly at MilitaryStars to assist transitioning personnel in finding civilian employment by recruiting client companies to attend MilitaryStars Career Expos. A former M1A1 Abrams tank ammunition loader, Hagens truly knows the value of being part of a team like the one he's found at MilitaryStars. Curtis joined the Army in 2001 and was stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas before being medically discharged under
honorable merits.
Transitioning back into civilian life, Hagens worked as a sales associate at a Fortune 500 company, developing extensive customer service relationships. He's currently enrolled in classes at Manatee Community College toward an associate's degree in the spring of 2007, and will then attend South Florida University business school.
Born in nearby Bradenton, FL and raised in West Central Ohio, Hagens returned to Florida following his separation from the Army. He enjoys poker, any and all sports, and spends his time with friends and family.


Tia Laurie
Tia Laurie, Account Executive, works tirelessly at MilitaryStars to assist transitioning personnel in finding civilian employment by recruiting client companies to attend MilitaryStars Career Expos. Being an Army brat, Tia grew up all over the country, but spent a majority of her childhood in Maryland. After graduating from high school, she went straight to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. While at West Point she ran track all 4 years and majored in
Engineering Management. Upon graduation from USMA in May 1999, she was commissioned into the Army Corps of Engineers and was subsequently stationed in Germany, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, Fort Hood, Texas and Iraq! After leaving Iraq, she decided to start her civilian/family life in Florida. She is having a blast in Florida fishing with her husband and playing with her brand new daughter.


Robert Nothdurft, Account Executive, is a former Military Intelligence Analyst for the US Army, having served in three world operations: Operation Joint Forge Bosnia Herzegovina, Operation Desert Spring in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi freedom, Iraq. Robert was awarded with commendation in all areas he was deployed, including the recipient of the Knowlton Award from the Military Intelligence Corps Association for demonstrating the highest
standards of integrity and moral character that displayed an outstanding degree of professional competence, and served the Military Intelligence Corps with distinction. Upon transitioning out of the Army, Nothdurft’s civilian career experiences began with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, managing an 85-bed behavioral management program for adjudicated adolescent males. This experience, coupled with his intel background, enabled Robert to bring an incredibly intuitive nature to the Stars’ Sales Department. Living and working in Bradenton, FL, Robert enjoys the beach atmosphere of the Gulf Coast and takes in all that the South Tampa area has to offer.


Charles "Chuck" Anderson, Account Executive, is a seasoned sales executive with consumate experience stemming from a position with one of the nation's largest lawncare companies, Chuck now brings his aptitudes to MilitaryStars. A veteran himself, Chuck worked as a non-communications radar inspector for the US Army with a TS clearance while enlisted.
Transitioning out, he returned to his home in Hungtington, WV to attend Marshall
University and then later moved to Florida, where he also attended Hillsborough Community College. Born in Richmond, VA, Chuck left the northern states to enjoy the warm weather in Apollo Beach, FL. An artist, he spends much of his free time making character drawings, cartooning and making crazy videos and music.


Robert Barclay, Account Executive, is a five-year US Navy veteran who served in both Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm prior to joining MilitaryStars. While in the Navy, Robert served as a Surface Warfare Specialist stationed on board the Destroyer U.S.S. Spruance, the first of the Spruance Class. While on board, he also served as a search and rescue swimmer before being selected to work with the Admirals Staff as Operations Specialist, where he “worked hard and played lots of
golf.” Transitioning back into the civilian world, Robert cultivated extensive sales and customer service experience, most recently working in the real estate market prior to the sub-prime fallout. He now assists military veterans in finding civilian careers throughout the US.
A native of Sarasota, FL, Robert returned to the area following his separation from the military. He now relishes the peace and quiet of Wimauma, FL, where he lives with his wife Pauline, two children, Kathryn and Patrick, and the family’s two dogs. An avid golfer and fisherman, Robert also spends his free time during football season watching the Bucs.


Paul Jarrett, Account Executive, is dedicated and committed to helping post military men and women find career opportunities. As a former Marine, Jarrett strongly believes in going "above and beyond the call of duty" to assist his fellow service members in finding civilian careers, and also to help military-friendly companies find sought-after military veteran talent.
While in the Marines, Paul’s tour of duty started in Hawaii as a military data
administrative clerk, and then moved on to Okinawa, Japan, New York and Boston as an inspector-instructor for Marines serving in reserve components.
After transitioning out of the service, Jarrett began his civilian career in the copier industry, where he earned top accolades in the sales department at one of the nation’s largest business solutions printing companies. During his time there, Jarrett received top honors, including recognition as a President's Club recipient.
Jarrett currently resides in Land O’ Lakes, FL, where in his free time, he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.


Eddie Paramore, Account Executive, is a former US Marine who’s first tour of duty started at Camp Lejeune, NC where he served as his Battalions' Legal Administration Officer. His military service also included deployments to Okinawa, Japan and the Mediterranean Sea (where he participated in TRAP missions with 26th MEU SOC in support of operation Provide Promise into Bosnia). Eddie also served as a Public Relations Specialist with the Jacksonville, FL reserve component.
Eddie is a recipient of the Navy Achievement Medal along with many other military and civilian honros and awards for great service and employment. Eddie's civilian career started as a Sales Representative with Frito-Lay, Inc, the convenient foods division of PepsiCo. His career also includes tenures as Assistant Director of Career Development with Florida A&M University College of Law and as a HR Recruiter with Prestige Home Construction.
During his time off, Eddie enjoys spending time with his two children, traveling, and playing / attending sporting events. "Semper Fi."


Michael McPherson, Account Executive, brings his many professional and military experiences to MilitaryStars to assist transitioning personnel and veterans in finding civilian employment.
Born and raised an Army brat, Michael is a former non-commissioned infantry officer with various training and international deployment experiences. Retiring after 21 years of service as a senior non-commissioned officer, McPherson went straight into
civilian work as a supervisor at a pre-cast concrete company prior to joining MilitaryStars in sunny Sarasota, FL.
When he’s not on the phone with employers, Michael enjoys golfing and spending time with his two daughters, Julie and Sarah.
